- It is a single-layer support film of a silicon (Si) vapor-deposited film (amorphous silicon film).
- Although its density is higher than that of a carbon membrane, it is advantageous for EELS analysis because the energy loss during electron transmission is smaller.
* There are three series depending on the film thickness: S05 (approximately 5nm), S10 (approximately 10nm), and S15 (approximately 15nm).
- The S05 series supports a Si film on a microgrid that is attached to a metal grid as an intermediate support.
* S05 Series: This is a high-resolution observation support film suitable for nanoparticles of 5nm or larger.
* S10 Series: This is a high-resolution observation support film suitable for nanoparticles of 10nm or larger.
* S15 Series: This is a high-resolution observation support film suitable for nanoparticles of 15nm or larger.
