Optimal knife for preparing 0.2 to 2.0 μm thick sections for optical microscopy. It has the following advantages when compared to glass knives:

- Sections without damage or compression can be prepared.

・Serial sections can be prepared without changing the knife.

・Thin sections can be made.

・The blade has a very long durability.

・It is easy to handle as there is no need to prepare like when using a glass knife.

*Blade angle is 45° only.

*DiATOME has traditionally stated the range of thin slice thickness as"0.2 to 5.0 μm", but if it is cut too thick, the durability of the cutting edge will be affected, so please use it for a long time. Therefore, the range was changed to"0.2 to 2.0 μm". (There is no particular change in the product. Also, it does not mean that it cannot be sliced at 5.0 μm.)
