CLEM/vEM-specific resin R221®
This resin allows for high-contrast electron microscopy images using glutaraldehyde at extremely low concentrations and uranyl acetate, without the need for osmium tetroxide.
It retains fluorescence within the resin.

1. Product Image
2-4 Volume electron microscopy images of various samples embedded in R221® resin.
Various samples were high-pressure frozen using the HPM Live μ®, freeze-substituted using 0.05% uranyl acetate, 0.1% glutaraldehyde, and 5% H2O in dry acetone, and then embedded in R221 prior to various image volume imaging methods:
- vEM on the cell monolayer using either a SigmaVP SEM or a Zeiss Crossbeam 540 SEM
2. 3View2XP (Gatan) top view, Sigma VP SEM (Zeiss)
